I am a theoretical physicist with a broad range of interests, from cold atomic gases and many body physics, to quantum information and computing, and methods for simulating non-equilibrium stochastic and quantum processes.

Having recently submitted my DPhil thesis under the supervision of Profs. Dieter Jaksch and Vlatko Vedral at Oxford University, I am currently a Post Doctoral Researcher at the Institute for Scientific Interchange in Turin.

When I get the chance, I like to think about how methods designed for studying quantum systems can be applied outside that domain. For example, to simulate stochastic processes or solve partial differential equations. Perhaps this will show us an alternative route through which (the study of) quantum mechanics helps solve problems faced by our society.

In the other direction, I’m starting to wonder whether some of the tools of network theory could help quantum physicists. For instance, when trying to analyse biological complexes using quantum mechanics.

Underlying all this is a desire to share ideas with clever people from different backgrounds and apply my trade to solving problems that are directly important to people out there in the real world.
