Sodium-cooled fast reactor (changes)

Showing changes from revision #6 to #7: Added | Removed | Changed

The sodium-cooled fast reactor or SFR is a design for an advanced fast neutron reactor. It builds on two closely related existing projects, the liquid metal fast breeder reactor? or LMFBR and the integral fast reactor, with the objective of producing a fast-spectrum, sodium-cooled reactor and a closed fuel cycle for efficient management of actinides and conversion of fertile uranium-238.

It has been said:

Fast Sodium-Cooled Reactors would resolve the energy crunch: much safer than water-cooled, can be run on existing nuclear waste, can be sited on existing nuclear facilities, extremely efficient, low environmental entropy.

Can we get a detailed comparison to water-cooled reactors and also molten salt reactors?
