Idea

Batteries are electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy when connected across a load with lower voltage voltage. (There’s gotta be a better way to phrase this?). Batteries that are designed to be used once are referred to as primary batteries. although they can be recharged in some cases, and batteries that are designed to be used multiple times by recharging them are referred to as secondary batteries.

Characteristics

Energy density?, Specific energy?, maximum continuous and instantaneous discharge rates, cell voltage, and cell lifespan all vary depending on the specific chemistry and testing conditions.

Rechargeable Chemistries

Lead acid

These batteries are probably the most well know and consist of lead plates suspended in sulfuric acid. Battery lifespan is anywhere from tens of cycles to one thousand cycles.
