Draft charter

The Azimuth project aims to create an “ecosystem” of people who are researching, teaching and studying the mathematical, scientific and political dimensions of the biosphere and the environmental crisis. Although we can’t claim to be “saving the planet” today, we are working to contribute, contribute incrementally, to the building of the theory, theory and the community of science, science that will become a needed element for our continuation on this planet. We Our are present building efforts include putting together a research wiki, experimenting with the programming of interactive climate models, and running publishing a multi-author blog. blog Using on these environment-related sources, math we and science. We also aim aspire to create the creation of teaching materials, materials for academic, professional, and general public audiences.

We work at the interface between professional science and the larger social body that supports it. In The principle, the pursuit of green mathematics is central to the Azimuth project since it could become a forefront of science that will be needed to cope with the environmental crisis. The reason why they are separated, on an organizational level, is because this research work takes place in university lab setting, whereas the general Azimuth work happens in the public forums of the wiki, the discussion board, and the blog. In the future, we hope to connect these efforts through the publishing of articles on green mathematics on the Azimuth blog.idea of the Azimuth project, since it could become a forefront of science that will be needed to cope with the environmental crisis.
