Overview

The idea of Milankovich cycles is that the tilt(obliquity) of the Earth and the orbit of the Earth influence the climate. The astronomical data have been calculated by celestial mechanics for the last 50 million years. The exact relationship between the astronomical forcing and the climate is unknown, but there are various models for this.
