Pressure retarded osmosis (Rev #2)

Pressure retarded osmosis (PRO) is a method for capturing energy from the osmotic flow between two streams of different salinity. A semi-permeable membrane is used to establish the flow, and a turbine is used to turn a generator. This could be used at the interface between the ocean and a river, or between the ocean and the outflow from a coastal wastewater treatment plant. This may be applicable to the creation of a self-sustaining wastewater treatment plant.
